A formula is a reusable decomposition — the third generation of the Atomus Prolog decompositions. Unfolding a formula turns it into a live holon: the template is copied onto the tree and its atoms (leaves) land on the frontier for domain-matched workers. A schedule is a separate object that unfolds a formula every N seconds.
A formula is recurring work; a commission is a recurring worker — the two halves of automation. Unfolded holons show up under Goals like any hand-made tree.
Auto-unfold is off (SHTONED_AUTO_UNFOLD): schedules are declared intent the
sweep does not read — the stack is not growing a second cron mechanism by accident (ness,
2026-08-20). And template-first declaration is backwards: formulas should grow out of a
breakdown that already proved itself (the Atomus door), not be authored as JSON up front. Treat
this page as the advanced/internal surface until then.
